Tomato Sauce
Ingredients:
- 2 cans tomatoes, chopped
- 4 tablespoons tomato paste
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 teaspoons fresh oregano, chopped (optional substitute: 1 teaspoon dried)
- 3 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme (optional substitute: 1/2 teaspoon dried)
- You will also need salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Directions:
- Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat. Sauté garlic for about 2 minutes. Then add tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano and thyme.
- Reduce heat and let simmer, uncovered. Stir occasionally. Let simmer for about 30 minutes, until mixture is thick.
- Remove from heat, season with salt and pepper.
- Enjoy on pizza dough or in your favorite pasta dish!
