Chickpea Tuna Salad


  • 3 cups (2 cans) chickpeas
  • 1 pound Tuna Steak
  • 1 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar You will also need salt and pepper for taste


  1. Combine chickpeas, onion, red pepper and cilantro in a bowl. Add 4 tablespoons olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper to bowl.
  2. Toss chickpeas mix and cover with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for about 1 hour.
  3. While chickpeas mix is in refrigerator, season tuna steak with salt and pepper. Add oil to skillet and place tuna steak over heat. Sear for about 2 minutes on each side.
  4. Remove tuna from heat and let cool. Serve tuna steak over chickpeas.
  5. Enjoy!
