Basmati Rice with Pine Nuts


  • 2 cups Basmati or Jasmine rice
  • 1/4 cup Pine nuts
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  1. Rinse rice under cold water; drain in a colander
  2. Use a 2-quart saucepan, heat rice with 3-3/4 cups water, uncovered, until boiling. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until water evaporates.
  3. Toast pine nuts in a frying pan over med-low heat until golden brown, stir occasionally.
  4. When rice is ready, remove from heat and stir lightly with a fork or spoon. Sprinkle the pine nuts and salt to blend. Cover and let rice and pine nuts sit for about 15 minutes.
  5. Enjoy!
